COLORS?

i am not sure which colors, because i am scared that to just go with green and because they have been very overdone lately!

I am being inspired by a design form the candle company i was also looking at using for my project.  I like very simple yet elegant designs and I am very into the smaller box type website, rather than having this massive window with a trillion things going on.

as for colors, I am nervous to use environmental type colors because that can be very overdone lately...

since this is a website where people buy things, do i need to have a check out type place.. because i have no clue how to do that... but i am very interested in learning that 

i was also thinking about having like a member log in type thing but i don't think i actually need that

homework for today!

I have more work to show you but my blogger account really doesn't like me, I am not sure if I am saving things incorrectly and that is why it takes forever, or if maybe the files types just will not post....  But i have a lot of tree research that I have been doing the last couple nights, I also have the sketches I showed you yesterday, and more complete sketches.  I am going to try to re-scan them again before class and once again attempt to upload my other photos.  If it does not work, I am bringing my computer and sketch book to class so I can show you them on paper at least.

Companies I am interested in...

I am having trouble making a decision, but I have found a lot of companies that I would like to us for my project.  I just want to make sure that the company will work for the entire semester and that I will be able to attain all the resources I would need.

Soybeam is a candle company that interests me.  I am very interested in the "go green" efforts that we are currently sweeping our nation.  The company is called Soybeam, rather than soybean because it makes candles.  It is interesting, all the glass used would have been recycled wine bottles which the company turns into a beautiful holder for the candles.  All the packaging is recycled, reused, and biodegradable, and the candles are made from "green ingredients".  The company also gives a portion of the profits to other organizations which are a part of the "go green" efforts.

On the opening page of the Fish Lips Paper Designs page, it states "no matter what color you wrap it in, make sure it's green".  I think that alone is a green motto to base an idea about.  The paper company does a lot of wrapping papers, they also create note cards and more.  The paper is recycled, with a creative design.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a foundation trying to find a cure and control the disease, and also to improve the lives of those with cystic fibrosis.  Nearly 90% of every dollar goes to the cause.  This foundation (and others like it) are important to me, a close relative was diagnosed with the disease when he was only 1 year old, he is now 23 years old.  His disease affects his life everyday; I hope to find a cure, and this organization helps to make that dream come true.

Trees for a Change is an organization where you can gift a tree to someone as a present.  Their tree is planted U.S. National Forests.  This organization is so important because due to wildfires, etc. the nation's forests are in need of being replaced.
